Our Publishing Standards

Publishing Standards & Ethics:

The Journal of Geomatics and Environmental Research (JOGER) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity in scholarly publishing. All parties involved in the publication process adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Guidelines. Plagiarism detection tools screen all submissions for originality, with manuscripts exceeding 30% similarity returned for revision or rejected outright. JOGER maintains a rigorous double-blind peer review process to eliminate bias and conflicts of interest.

Editor Ethics

The editorial team, comprising the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Managing Editor, and Editorial Board, makes final publication decisions based on peer reviewer recommendations. The Editor-in-Chief assigns manuscripts to the Managing Editor, who selects expert reviewers without conflicts of interest. Editors follow these principles:

·         Uphold ethical standards in all decisions

·         Select reviewers with relevant expertise and no conflicts

·         Preserve anonymity in double-blind review

·         Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscript content

·         Protect reviewer comments from unauthorized use

Author Ethics

Authorship is restricted to those making substantial contributions to conception, design, analysis, interpretation, and writing. Authors must adhere to:

·         Submit only unpublished original work (prior conference proceedings must be disclosed)

·         Submit elsewhere only after formal rejection by JOGER

·         Sign copyright transfer agreement upon acceptance

·         Take collective responsibility for scientific accuracy and originality

·         Address all reviewer comments through the corresponding author, with explanations for disagreements

·         Obtain approval from all co-authors for any authorship changes

Reviewer Ethics

Reviewers ensure manuscript quality and scholarly contribution through constructive feedback. They must:

·         Decline invitations outside their expertise

·         Provide objective assessments free from conflicts of interest

·         Maintain confidentiality of all manuscript information

·         Report suspected plagiarism or duplicate publication to editors promptly

These policies safeguard the integrity of geomatics and environmental research published in JOGER.
